Rural Room sets high standards of quality, independence and integrity for itself, and closely regulates its compliance with those standards.
EDITORIAL STANDARDS
At all times Rural Room Contributors must comply with Rural Room Contributors Editorial Standards.
Rural Room Contributors must read and implicitly understand the Editorial Standards:
Content supplied must have all copyright cleared (footage, music, images, copy).
Content supplied must be factually proven and evidence based.
Content supplied must be original and cannot be plagiarised.
Content cannot make misleading statements to the audience.
Content cannot promote racism, bigotry or bullying.
Content supplied must attribute quotes and credit to the correct person/s.
Rural Room Contributors will not mislead interview subjects to secure a story.
Rural Room does not guarantee coverage or editorial support – the content published is done so in line with the macro content calendar and can never be guaranteed.
Rural Room Contributors must disclose any personal, political or religious relationship or paid contributions that seek to influence their work. Rural Room Contributors cannot create a story that seeks to benefit themselves financially, politically or personally.
Rural Room promotes political impartiality across our platforms. From time to time, people may express strong political, religious or controversial views, this is acceptable in opinion pieces provided the contributor clearly highlights that the perspective is their own, so the audience is not misled. Similarly, any political statements that are not opinion pieces are to be factual and evidence based.
Rural Room permits advertising, promotion, branding and naming rights sponsorship provided any paid advertising, promotion, branding and naming rights sponsorship is clearly identified as such and readily distinguishable from editorial decisions and curations.
